Volles Programm und volle Plätze beim 6. Mobile Learning Day der FernUniversität in Hagen
Auch in diesem Jahr wurde den 140 Teilnehmern und Teilnehmerinnen auf dem Mobile Learning Day am 07.11.2013 von der Forschungsgruppe Mobile Learning, unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Claudia de Witt, ein volles Programm geboten. Die Begrüßung nahm die Veranstalterin thematisch passend und aktuell in Form eines Videos vor, das über die Augmented Reality App „Layar“ zusammen mit weiteren Kurzvideos von dem Programmplakat abgerufen werden konnte. In gleicher Weise aktuell, informativ und auf den Punkt zeigten sich auch die Vorträge der eingeladenen Referenten. Interessante Forschungsprojekte und Ideen aus hochschulwissenschaftlicher und wirtschaftlicher Perspektive gaben einen informativen Einblick in den aktuellen Stand im Bereich mobilen Lernens.
Neben Beispielen für den zunehmenden Einbezug des unmittelbaren Kontextes zum Lernen wurden Simulationen kritischer Entscheidungssituationen und mobile Lösungen als Verlängerung betrieblicher Weiterbildung und mobile Assistenzsysteme vorgestellt. Dass mobile Anwendungen in den Regelbetrieb einer Hochschule integriert werden können, wurde anhand der spanischen Online- Universitat Oberta de Catalunya präsentiert. „Offensichtlich ist Mobile Learning nach wie vor ein stark gefragtes Thema. Der Mobile Learning Day zeigt allerdings nicht nur die Faszination und Trends auf, sondern informiert ebenso über Datensicherheit und Privacy von Mobiltelefonen und Apps“, erläutert Dr. Peter Krauss-Hoffmann vom Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales, der die gesamte Veranstaltung moderierte. Ein weiterer Veranstaltungsblock mit Workshops zu mobilen Lernszenarien, Learning Apps und einer Reflexion zum Einsatz mobiler Angebote in Lehr- Lernprozessen ergänzte die Fachtagung produktiv und vielfältig.

A tight schedule and many participants at the 6th Mobile Learning Day at the FernUniversität in Hagen
This year the Mobile Learning Day, organized by the research group „Mobile Learning“ under the direction of Prof. Dr. Claudia de Witt, took place on 07.11.2013 and offered a varied program. Corresponding to the topic of the conference the welcome speech was delivered in form of a short video which could be accessed through the Augmented Reality App „Layar“ by scanning the program poster with a mobile phone. The presentations of the invited scientists and experts revealed a variety of perspectives which were very interesting and up to date. They showed different ideas and research projects from the scientific and economical point of view to deliver a full and comprehensive insight into the current state of Mobile Learning.
Top issues this year were examples of the increasing involvement of the immediate context of learning, simulations of critical decision-making situations, mobile solutions as an extension of job training and mobile assistance systems. Besides a representative of the spanish Online University Oberta de Catalunya showed that mobile applications can be integrated into the daily workflow of a university. „Obviously mobile learning is still a highly relevant topic. Thus the Mobile Learning Day shows the fascination and trends of mobile learning, but also informs about data security and privacy of mobile phones and apps”, explained Dr. Peter Krauss-Hoffmann by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs who moderated the entire event. During the afternoon three parallel workshops were offered in which participants worked together very productive in fields of mobile learning scenarios, learning apps and the use of mobile offers for teaching and learning. The conference ended with a lively and highly up to date discussion in form of a “cadavre exquis” between Prof. Dr. Claudia de Witt, Prof Dr. Michael Kerres and Dr. Lutz Goertz. The experts reflected among a variety of topics about the future of Mobile Learning and Moocs and argued if or in how far Mobile Learning will disappear step by step because it may be integrated in “normal learning”.
